AUSTRALIAN LEGAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
UCA supports a public referendum being held in relation to the introduction and passing of an Act prohibiting concealment of the face in public space and outlawing of the full face covering referred to as the niqab in Australia.
The key argument supporting this proposal and public referendum is that face-coverings prevent the clear identification of a person, which is both a security risk, and a social hindrance within a society which relies on facial recognition and expression in communication.
UCA supports the introduction and passing of an Act prohibiting sharia law ever being introduced into Australia as the Australian legal system as it stands today has served this country adequately and sufficiently well.
