Introduction:
AUP - Australia United Platform refer to our policies as “proposed policy” to avoid and prevent misleading the Australian voting public as many in political circles do.

The key reason none of us are witnessing the results we expect to see in our country is due to the truth the fact none of the current individuals or parties “policy statement/promises” can in fact become policy unless the parties involved are elected into government by we the voting public and preferably they hold the majority of seats within the Federal Government House of Representatives (lower house) and one of the top two preferred party positions within the lower house would be the ideal position.

The lower house is where the main roles of the Federal Government are to make important national decisions, develop policy, introduce bills (proposed laws), implement laws and manage government departments on a day to day basis.

What we currently have is unconstitutional corrupt corporate government and policy wise is an insult to our forefathers who sacrificed their life for our country our freedoms our liberties. They would be turning over in their graves.

Any fellow Australian is encouraged and invited to contribute to our proposed policies so they are based upon your genuine concerns and any fellow Australian is welcome to request revision and updating of those policies to adequately reflect and address your genuine concerns constantly being ignored by the present day corrupt corporate government and many so called political parties..

THE AGE OF ENTITLEMENT IS DRAWING TO A CLOSE FOR POLITICIANS. (But not if Australian voters fail to stand and act)

LEGISLATION TO ADDRESS POLITICAL ENTITLEMENTS AND EXPENDITURE BURDENS UPON THE AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE.

The age of entitlements shall be over only when Australians have made the decision and choice it shall no longer be tolerated and over.

If Australia must have cost cutting measures as quite often many politicians have laid claim to publicly. Then cost cutting measures and tightening of belts must be met and applied by all and across the board including politicians and public alike.
There is a legitimate requirement for a complete accurate transparent review of politician’s salaries, pensions etc to ensure they live up to and meet with the expectations of we the people.

  1. Scrap political pensions. Politicians can purchase their own retirement plan, just as most other working Australians are expected to do.
  2. Retired politicians (past, present & future) participate in Centrelink. A Politician collects a substantial salary while in office but should receive no salary when they're out of office.
  3. Terminated politicians under 70 can go get a job or apply for Centrelink unemployment benefits like ordinary Australians. Terminated politicians over 70 can negotiate with Centrelink like the rest of the Australian people.
  4. Funds already allocated to the Politicians' retirement fund be returned immediately to Consolidated Revenue. This money is to be used to pay down debt they created which they expect us and our grandchildren to repay for them.
  5. Politicians will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Politicians pay will rise by the lower of, either the CPI or 3%.
  6. Politicians lose their privileged health care system and participate in the same health care system as ordinary Australian people. i.e. Politicians either pay for private cover from their own funds or accept ordinary Medicare.
  7. Politicians must equally abide by all laws they impose on the Australian people.
  8. All contracts with past and present Politicians men/women are void effective immediately. The Australian people did not agree to provide perks to Politicians, that burden was thrust upon them.
  9. Review all politician’s entitlements.
  10. Review all politician’s salaries/wages and to be based upon the exact same principals as ordinary Australian wages to meet with a fairer manageable scale and level.
  11. Removal of funding for private/corporate flights for politicians, with the exception of the prime minister and emergencies.
  12. Complete review and update of political slush funds entitlements and expenditure.
  13. Removal of inappropriate abuse of accommodation allowances.
  14. Removal and abolishment of all AEC electoral funding payments to political parties.
  15. Removal of tax funded bar privileges for all politicians.
  16. Compulsory drug test for all politicians.

Serving in Parliament is an honour, not a career. Politicians devised all these benefits for themselves not the people. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so our politicians should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Public acknowledgement to
Dr. Dale Kerwin, School of Education, MT Gravatt Campus, Griffith University for contribution to this proposed policy.

PUBLIC funding of the last elections means big bucks for smaller parties, according to figures released today.
Pauline Hanson’s One Nation will receive $1.6 million in public campaign assistance and maverick senator Nick Xenophon’s team $1.18 million. They are well behind the Liberals, set to receive $22.5 million, and the ALP who will get $22.35 million.
But well above the Sex Party and the Help End Marijuana Prohibition (HEMP) Party set to get $6311.79 each.

AUSTRALIAN HOME OWNERSHIP AND HOUSING AFFORDABILITY.

Every Australian has the right to warm dry affordable accomodation with sufficient security of tenure that allows a house to become a home. The government has to "STOP" advocating it's responsibility for housing to the market place because the market place is driven by profit not by the Australian public good or benefit.

  • Government "MUST" treat housing as essential infrastructure.
  • Government should provide government funded mortgages.
  • Government needs to restrict/limit foreign ownership of housing in Australia.
  • Government needs to review long term leasing cooperative housing to meet the needs of the growing Australian homeless crisis.

AUSTRALIAN WATER FLUORIDATION

We the Australian people call for a transparent open public discussion and debate into the use or "FLUORIDE" in Australia's drinking water to establish and hold a public vote if this practice and government policy should be continued with in Australia.

BANK OF AUSTRALIA

Owned managed by the Commonwealth Government of Australia

AUP – Australia United Platform submit the policy proposal to the Australian public that a Bank of Australia a Commonwealth Government owned bank be established with long-term finance and fair interest rates for primary industry and for the benefit of Australia and Australians.

We believe the best way to avoid any impact to the economy is to re-establish a government owned sovereign bank called Bank of Australia like the Commonwealth Development Bank of Australia and the Primary Industry Bank of Australia that existed all the way up to the early 1990’s.

A new government bank must be established that recognises that a farming business’s LVR (Loan to Value Ratio) is not what should determine if they should be wound up or not.
For example, take a farm of 1800ha that is worth $1.5 million.

In a good season with a 3 ton/ha yield, with a modest wheat price of $250 per ton, the farm could produce 5400 tones of wheat worth $1.3 million.

Subtracting costs of $300 thousand the farm would be left with around $1 million profit.
In one good year, a farmer can climb out of debt if they are allowed to trade out of their financial difficulty.

The aim of a new Bank of Australia a government bank should be to keep farmers on the land and farming their properties correctly as a good year will always come and to encourage agriculture development in Australia.

AUP - Australia United Platform would also call to immediately issue an Australia wide moratorium on farm foreclosures and property sales across all agricultural sectors and to appoint a Royal Commission into banks and their agents with the power to order compensation for the victims and imprison individuals who have engaged in illegal and unethical conduct.

A Commonwealth Government owned Bank of Australia would also incorporate re-investing into Australian infrastructure requirements.

CANNABIS/MARIJUANA.

  • Legislation to legalise cannabis/marijuana for medical and personal use.
  • Government to manage manufacturing distribution and sale.
  • Revenue raised placed in consolidate revenue for the benefit of Australian homeless crisis, pay down budget deficit and benefit infrastructure requirements.
  • Have in place programs the means to assist cannabis users who do wish to quit of their own free will free choice.

You have the free will the free choice to live your life without the burden of over excessive legislation by government over excessive charging creating financial burden and hardship on your life. Would it not be far more beneficial we put in place programs, the means by which to assist rather than penalise users who do wish to quit of their own free will free choice in relation to drug addiction/users, alcoholics, smokers etc.

CORRUPT PREFERENTIAL VOTING SYSTEM ABOLISHMENT.

AUP support a public referendum in relation to removal of the corrupt preferential voting system to ensure a more transparent robust fair and honest voting system for Australia voters.

What also needs to be implemented is voter ID produced at polling booths and once you have been marked at one booth as having voted that is also registered with all booths nation and state wide.

THE TRUTH ABOUT PREFERENTIAL VOTING - Does preferential voting in fact benefit you the voter or is it truthfully and honestly structured to benefit the political parties and used by them to retain control and power? To discover and learn the truth please read the PDF file at the bottom of this policy proposal page.

EDUCATION.

The safe Schools propaganda program that was never democratically placed before parents and parents were not consulted prior to its implementation. We the people and deeply concerned parents expect and want education for our children and not indoctrination!!!

  • We the people and concerned parents call for the complete abolishment of the Safe Schools Program.
  • We the people further stand firm in having the 1900/1901 Commonwealth of Australia Constitution incorporated and made compulsory across all schools as part of the Australian education curriculum throughout Australia.

If Australians are unaware of their 1901 Commonwealth of Australia Constitution and also the Magna Carta then how can they have knowledge and comprehension of their constitutional and democratic rights freedoms and liberties?

We should be promoting in our country widespread education as any democratic country and society requires literate people that are aware and understand not only our 1900/1901 Commonwealth of Australia Constitution and democratic rights freedoms and liberties but also understand our system of governance and take responsibility for ourselves and our country.

FOREIGN AID.

It is proposed that Australian Foreign Aid assistance in monetary form be suspended and replaced with the following .
  • Qualified and trained personnel in their field or expertise to assist and work on the ground in countries requiring assistance.
  • Qualified medical personnel assistance.
  • Qualified educational personnel assistance.
  • Qualified agriculture personnel assistance.
  • Construction and building materials/supplies.
  • Military and emergency personnel assistance in natural disasters.

It has been the case time and time again that foreign aid provided by Australia in monetary
terms has not been used for the original purpose it was intended for but instead ended up in the pockets of corrupt officials.

What Foreign Aid financial monetary assistance that was previously provided and paid out by Australia shall be withheld to be used to meet the financial and budgetary requirements that are presently lacking financial support in Australia for Australians

HEALTH.

Medical Marijuana.

AUP will support legislation for the approval of m
edical marijuana for CHRONIC and seriously ill Australians and make It easier for patients who now must go through a lengthy process to get cannabis from overseas once prescribed by an authorised doctor.

It has to be safe and we want to make sure this medicinal cannabis is available but on the same basis as any of the serious drugs and medicines that can only be dealt with through prescription and through a very rigorous medical process.

Legalisation of recreational marijuana.

AUP will support and call for a public referendum to be held on the legalisation of marijuana in Australia for recreational use.

PBS pharmaceutical benefits scheme.

For all those Australians who do wish to give up smoking AUP will also look to including in the pharmaceutical benefits scheme PBS products that assist with reducing smoking as a positive step forward rather than taking a punitive financial measures and barriers approach.

HALAL/KOSHAR CERTIFICATION/TAXES.

Solution: Pass a bill outlining all products that have religious taxes attached to them are clearly stated and marked on those products and have all retail outlets have specific dedicated areas set aside for those products for simple easy recognition and identification by the purchasing public to make their own free choice. If absolutely required also a public register with all products that have the "Halal or Kosher Taxes" applied to them listed.

IMMIGRATION.

Close our borders to refugees until such time as we have addressed and resolved our own home soil challenges faced.

It is undeniable that immigration is currently altering the demographic makeup of Australia. It is also undeniable, given the reaction of Australia’s political and media establishment to his maiden speech, that this is the intention.
This is something Australians were never consulted on. The decision was made by Australia’s political establishment, and Australians are treated with disdain if ever they point this out and demand a say in the process.
If Australia does not monitor efficiently and effectively immigration then Australians shall become the minority within their own country. Australia will decide who comes to our country, and the circumstances in which they come Australia has its own sovereign right to determine who enters our country and we must never permit our immigration process to be mandated or dictated to by the UN or any other foreign power.

Australia's population growth, due to record net overseas migration, refugee intake is of significant concern. Australia must consider reducing its immigration intake by at least a third, and possibly by up to 50 per cent, or in the short term completely as unrealistic population growth is putting pressure on housing and increasing urban congestion and cultural indifference and conflicts. Our country's population is far greater than "what we need and what we can absorb, environmentally and economically.

It's imperative Australian immigration policy uphold Australian traditions values culture and laws and they are respected and adhered to by all immigrants seeking to enter or live in Australia.

Australia and the Australian people “will not" accept permit or allow or implement any other cultures foreign laws that conflict with our Australian constitutional law.

Unconstitutional corrupt corporate Australian government is not protecting you or your family or your country.

Key points:

Refugees deliberately and intentionally being brought into our country by government under the disguise of refugees in order to destabilise our country undermine our country from within to deliberately and intentionally create cultural conflict and unrest to then enable bringing Australia under a new world order one world government.

INDEPENDENT BROAD BASED ANTI-CORRUPTION BODY.

Australia United Platform is very concerned about how the public purse is spent, whether it’s sent overseas and what we get for it in terms of the relationship or our support for aid to another country. AUP proposes examining all aspects of the budget… AUP is going to ensure that every deal, every dollar that is spent by the government is carried out in a way that respects the Australian taxpayer.

There are genuine concerns within the Australian community about misuse and abuse of the public purse by government and council officials and AUP announces that we would legislate for an independent anti-corruption watchdog body that is completely independent of government influence to monitor both federal and state levels of government and even local councils.

It is imperative that we need to remove the corruption opportunities within our government and councils and their corrupt cronies and replace with our own party that shall ensure a royal commission into the corruption and decay of Australian politics and the current corporate government establishment is above and beyond reproach and all transcripts completely transparent and open to the public.

If we want and expect the Australian community to put their faith and trust in government and local councils, then we must be able to shine a spotlight into the dark corners of corrupt corporate government and councils. Therefore AUP will call for an “Independent Broad-Based anti-corruption body to ensure accountability and liability to we the people and prosecution under the full force of the Australian law for all and any guilty parties.

There does exist too much greed and indulgence at the top "government level" at taxpayers and the public purse expense. No one denies there can exist on rare occasions heavy workloads within government but who in truth and honesty carry the burdens of that heavy work load is not so much the politicians but the staff that work underneath them.

If Australia must have cost cutting measures as quite often many politicians have laid claim to publicly. Then cost cutting measures and tightening of belts must be met and applied by all and across the board including politicians and public alike.

There is a legitimate requirement for a complete accurate transparent review of politician’s salaries, pensions to ensure they live up to and meet with the expectations of we the people.

The scope and depth of the misappropriation of public funds just never ends and is highly unlikely to end until such time as serious reform and legislation has been brought into play.

Corrupt corporate government catchphrase often used to excuse abuse and misuse of public funds..."It's within the guidelines" is no longer acceptable to we the people.

So therefore we the people call for a full royal commission at minimum and a complete independent audit into all current serving politicians past and present use of the public purse.

All politicians in breach of the public purse and found guilty of misappropriation offences will be:

• Charged in a court of law.
• The funds recovered.
• Retrenched and entitlements stripped and removed.
• The entitlements/allowances guidelines will come under a complete review and revision to meet with the expectations and approval of the Australian people.
• Transparent disclosure of entitlement guidelines shall be placed on public record and available to the Australian public (at no expense to the public and free of charge)

INVESTIGATION INTO THE AGED CARE FACILITIES.

Many are calling for a thorough investigation into various aged care facilities in our country due to the mistreatment of their loved ones and family members.

So we the peoples party shall be calling for an investigation into the aged care facilities to investigate claims brought forward with the proposal to implement stringent guidelines to ensure the safety and well care of residents in these facility's.

if you wish to contribute to this proposed policy to further develop and improve it then please feel free to do so.

LEGISLATION FOR THE RETURN OF CRITICAL FUNDING BACK INTO AUSTRALIA.

We the Australian public call for the return of the following funding back to our country and our communities to meet the financial and budgetary requirements of our own country and people
  • $3.8 Billion in Foreign Aid.
  • $60,466,642.44 in AEC electoral funding payouts to political parties.
  • Australia is the twelfth largest financial contributor to the UN. Australia contributed more than US$87 million in the years 2004 to 2006, with a regular budget of US$22.9 million

The political disclosure laws in Australia are a joke. They are opaque, tricky and designed to obscure the link between money and political outcomes. www.canberratimes.com.au/federal-politics/political-opinion/malcolm-turnbull-could-do-worse-than-starting-2017-by-draining-his-own-swamp-20161219-gtdxej.html

Therefore we the Australian people call for more stringent and transparent laws governing all donations to political parties.

LEGISLATION TO ADDRESS OUR AUSTRALIAN HOMELESS CRISIS.

Too long now the Australian corrupt corporate government has continued to blatantly ignore and push aside the (Australian Homeless crisis) our country is gripped by. AUP will endeavour
to work with all relevant government and non-government sectors to address our (Australian Homeless crisis) in the most efficient and expedient way possible with the focus on the cause of this growing crisis, mental health issues etc.

Any Australian concerned with our growing homeless crisis in our country is welcome to contribute to this proposed policy to develop it further.

LEGISLATION FOR A BILL OF RIGHTS.

Legislation for a bill of rights, sometimes called a declaration of rights or a charter of rights, to protect the most important rights of the Australian people for the purpose to protect those rights against infringement from undemocratic corrupt corporate government and public officials.

Australia is the only Western democratic country with neither a constitutional nor federal legislative bill of rights to protect its people. Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) are the only states and territories to have a human rights Act.

LEGISLATION TO REMOVE VOLUNTEERS DISTRIBUTING HOW-TO-VOTE INFORMATION.

Policy proposal to ban distribution of how-to-vote cards at entrances to all polling booths to make voting a little more comfortable experience for Australian voters

We don't need or require all the volunteers bombarding voters at entries to polling booths in this country, a situation we've got at this time that is by no means getting any better, it's only getting worse."

In all truth and honesty, if you need a How to Vote slip from a party hack you probably don't deserve a vote.

AUP propose that all the how-to-vote cards for the different parties to be displayed in the polling booth areas on a table. This would mean if voters wanted to use one, they could pick it up themselves before voting with no need to be bombarded at the main entrances to polling booths.

Voters go into the polling booth and they'll see all the how-to-vote cards there, so they can identify the party that they want to vote for or their chosen candidate.

MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS AUSTRALIA WIDE EVERY STATE.
  • Removal of vehicle registration variations state to state and the introduction of uniformed registration Australia wide in every state.
  • Pensioners receive "FREE" registration proposal. (share your views)
  • Unemployed receive discounted registration proposal. (share your views)
  • One of single registration payment that is valid the entire duration of the vehicle whilst in the individuals ownership. (Not transferable)
  • Once vehicle is sold to a new owner then that new owner is liable for a completely new registration one of single payment.
  • All vehicles would require mandatory road worthy inspections involving a reasonable fee. The duration between those inspections would be presented to the Australian public to vote upon.

REFUGEES.

For any country to accept refugees that country must have a sustainable infrastructure to accommodate them. Sufficient and adequate and affordable housing. Australia already has a growing Australian men women and children homeless crisis so what government in their right mind would therefore add a further 19,000 refugees only to have them placed upon our welfare system?

What corrupt corporate government of Australia fail to consider is that somebody is going to have to pay for all of them to live.

Prime minister Malcolm Turnbull and his government want to bring into Australia as reported in mainstream media and as many of you know 19,000 refugees into Australia. However, what he fails to disclose and tell you or point out is that is 19,000 further additions to the Australian welfare system.

The liberals may even claim that they can get jobs. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case when so many Australians cannot even find or obtain employment/work. Consider also the example in relation to the state of Germany. In the two years since the migrant crisis began, there have been about 1.2 million migrants that have ventured into the country. Can you guess how many of them have found a job?

NSW government has committed $27 million over four years toward programs that assist refugees in finding a job.
www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-23/nsw-refugees-settlement-fund-from-government/8049144

What are Australians receiving?

AUP propose no further intake of refugees now until we have cleaned up our own back yard and addressed the growing homeless crisis our own people are facing.

ROYAL COMMISSION INTO THE BANKING SECTOR.

Preventing and exposing government, banking and public sector corruption and misconduct.

The impact of corruption goes beyond the corrupt individuals, the innocent colleagues who are implicated, or the reputation of the organisations they work for. Ultimately, the public are the ones who lose out.

Corruption erodes the trust we have in our government our banks and public sector to act in our best interests. It also wastes our taxes rates etc. that have been earmarked for important community projects – meaning we must put up with poor quality services or infrastructure, or we miss out altogether.

If ever there was a requirement for a completely independent of government influence anti-corruption watch dog to monitor our governments both federal and state level our banks and public sector then now is that time in our country with ever increasing budget deficits etc.

TERRORISM and Islamic extremism.

Australian Government and it's people shall not tolerate Islamic extremist activities in Australia in order to protect our sovereign people and our country.

We shall not tolerate permit or allow Sharia law in Australia under any circumstances and uphold Australian law as the highest law of the land in Australia.

All and any persons found guilty of undertaking extremist terrorist conduct and
behaviour in Australia such as:
  • Australia and the Australian Government will not tolerate Islamic extremist or acts of terrorism against Australia or our sovereign people of Australia or Sedition. Any such act shall be met and dealt accordingly with by the full force of Australian law.
  • Australia and the Australian Government will not tolerate allow permit any introduction or use of Sharia law in Australia.
  • Terrorism against Australia and/or it's sovereign people.
  • Serious crime and offences in breach of Australian law.
  • Guilty in an Australian court of Law of serious crime or offences against any person in Australia.
  • Any individual that leave Australia to go fight with ISIS against the Australian military, and then they try to come back will be declined and refused entry back into Australia.
  • Any burning, defacing of the Australian flag will be punishable by Australian law convicted and jailed and those found guilty in Australia on visas shall have their visas cancelled and be deported.

Any found guilty of the above shall automatically have their visas removed and deported from Australia where applicable.

This policy is not aimed or directed at discrimination against those who enter Australia with respect towards our country culture and laws and who accept respect and abide by Australian law.

Be aware to enact this or any policy the party concerned "MUST" hold the majority of seats in the Federal Government House of Representatives (lower house) by by doing so form government.

PEOPLE'S INITIATED REFERENDA” BILL.

What is CIR?

CIR – Citizens Initiated Referendum is the official terminology used however AUP refer to it as "The People's Initiated referendum"

The People's Initiated Referendum is a form of direct democracy in which a given minimum number or percentage of voters has the power to require a referendum to be taken on a given issue without the approval of the Parliament. It has two essential characteristics:

We the people have the power, by petition, to compel the holding of a referendum on whether a law should be enacted or repealed;

The Government and the Parliament are bound by the result of such a referendum.

Such referenda are distinct from the current system where only the Government can initiate a proposal and normally only does so when it is necessary under the Constitution to make the proposal valid.
Direct legislation by the people was first introduced at the national level in Switzerland in 1874 and has since been adopted in 26 States of the USA. Since the 1970s, it has also been used in Italy. It now also operates in all German States and nationally in Russia. It also operates at a local level in Canada and Italy.

In one extreme version (not being promoted in Australia) petitioners can call for removal of the government and fresh elections. This happened recently in California, where an unpopular Governor was removed at the subsequent poll. Arnold Schwartzneggar was elected instead.

The wishes of the people for a change were met, whether they made the right decision on the replacement is another matter. We vote every election for a party with a mixture of policies which are mostly not very specific. After election, the government does what it considers expedient. We can’t force action on a specific issue about which we feel strongly. Even worse, there may be bipartisan agreement between the major parties against our view, so we have no influence except by a protest vote for a minor party.

Joining a political party won’t do much good if that party does not represent you. Parties are run by cliques and factions and ordinary members get minimum to no chance to influence the outcomes.

The only way to force the parliamentarians to act is via "The People's Initiated Referenda" There are good books on the subject referred to as (CIR)- Professor Geoffrey de Q. Walker's the People's Law (1987), or the late Professor Paddy O’Brien’s The People's Case (1995). The South Australian Constitutional Convention (SACC) website still exists (

Corrupt Preferential Voting System Removal.

The vote of the Australian people on election day is obviously of profound importance to our democracy. But probably far more so than many of us realise. Because, our vote, is the only participation we have in our democracy to the extent that politicians are compelled to abide by our will.
Beyond our vote, politicians can, and for the most part do, completely ignore our will, with little or no consequence. So if a problem exists with our vote that diminishes or cancels out its democratic nature, Australia can very quickly be rendered democratically void — all but for the ‘goodwill’ of politicians.
Yet voting is a fundamentally simple concept, so we should have no problem whatsoever holding a vote that is perfectly democratic. And even though political science deals with significant complexities in voting theory — it is inescapable, that a vote in a single winner contest, involves nothing more complicated than choosing one candidate over all others — and to be democratic, only has to comply with two very basic principles, which are:
  1. To decide a winner based on democracy’s majority rule; and
  2. To provide a fair and equal contest for all candidates.
So given the obvious importance of our vote to our Australian democracy, as well as the relative simplicity of voting, it would be reasonable to presume that an advanced first world nation such as Australia, would have a voting system that would be particularly democratically robust. After all, the Australian Electoral Commission is dedicated to that end.

In this context, it is therefore extraordinarily difficult to comprehend, how a nation such as Australia could get voting so profoundly wrong, that we fail to meet even the two very basic principles set out above — and consequently, suffer an outcome from our vote that is completely democratically valueless. Yet that is the truth of voting in Australia.

The problem is our use of the Preferential voting system — and the key problem with Preferential voting is that it is not primarily a system of voting, but primarily a system of corruption.
